Two goal Roddy Grant scored in only 47 seconds as Brechin went into a four-club tie at the top of the Third Division, after a 2-1 win at Peterhead. Manager Dick Campbell said: 'It was real end to end stuff. It was a terrific game for the fans, and that's four goals for Roddy in four games.'
Derek Smith equalised for Peterhead before Grant sealed the points with his second strike seven minutes from time.
Hamilton, Cowdenbeath and East Fife all sit alongside Brechin on ten points. Hamilton dropped their first points of the season but remain unbeaten after a goalless draw with East Stirling.
Manager Ally Dawson said: 'We did everything bar score a goal. Jim Sherry hit the bar and there were a number of chances scrambled away in front of their goal.'
Murray McDowall's double led Cowdenbeath to a 3-1 win over an Elgin side which had taken the lead through Mark Slythe. David White put Cowden level before McDowall secured the points.
A Stuart Mackay strike was good enough to earn East Fife to win at Montrose, while Paddy Flannery headed the only goal of the game as Dumbarton beat Albion Rovers 1-0.
